Mural of "Cities for People, Not for Profit"
The dominant trend of gentrification and raise of rents due the free market is affecting huge mass of population. Lots of people even in the so-called „developed“ west can't afford a decent housing. Young people are still living with their parents, and those who are considered lucky live with 2 or more roommates. Also, there huge number of people who can't afford even that and are homeless.
In the portrait is a map of Ljubljana with a focus around AKC Metelkova (keyhole is painted on it). The rat symbolizes marginalized, oppressed, and stigmatized citizens who have the "key" of their hometown. It is a question of the moment when they will use that "key" and fight dominant urbanistic practices guided by the profit logic.
