Mural of Rossana Rossanda

Rossana Rossanda (1924-2020) was born in Pula, Croatia, during the initial consolidation of Benito Mussolini’s Fascist regime. She was a journalist, writer, feminist, and protagonist of Italian politics. She was a participant in the partisan movement and militant members of the PCI (from where she was expelled because of her critical stance towards USSR authoritarian politics) and the Italian parliament from 1963 to 1968. She made a huge contribution to the founding of the influential paper "Il Manifesto", which remains the most critical daily in Berlusconi’s Italy.

The main motive in the mural is her leaving of this world walking up the stairs into one more just world – a world for she fought through all of her life. The curtains here are made of newspapers „Il Manifesto“, where se was one of main editors, and also one of the founders.
